Take Guard Of Your Heart!
My dad suffered from 5 heart attacks, and my grand parents died from heart disease. So, at the age of 38, when I started having chest pains, it scared me. I knew I had done over 25 years of damage to my body struggling with anorexia, bulimia, diet pill adductions, and compulsive/binge eating. I went to get a physical and my EKG came back not great. My doctor sent me for a stress test, which came back not great either.

In 2016, I was in the worst state of my life, I was battling with obesity, food addiction, hair loss, depression, anxiety, anger, and heart issues. I was a mess! After having an echocardiogram done on my heart, the doctor came in and said, if you don’t get healthy and lose weight, you will not see your son grow up! I knew I had to do something! I had waited so long to become a mom and my husband and son deserved for me to be a better person.

If you had told me in 2016, that I would be competing in a pageant, especially with fitness wear, I would have said there is NO way. Especially, weighing close to 300lbs. But God had a plan for me! After, so many of my friends watched my health and mental transformation, many people started encouraging me to compete! I chose the International system because I personally knew four former Mrs Tennessee International winners, and watched their journey. I did alot of research and feel in love with what the system stands for and how it aligns with my morals!

Recently, I was asked by a principal of a local middle school to come to the office and talk to three “mean girls” of the 5th grade class. I was scared, lol!I was the victim of bullying when I was growing up, so flashbacks ran through my head. But, I knew my purpose in life is to teach EVERYONE true confidence. When I walked into the office, I saw these three beautiful girls sitting there with the weight of the world on there shoulders.

I went after dreams and competed on April 13 in Franklin, TN and won Mrs. Tennessee International 2019. I competed in the areas of interview, on stage question, fitness wear, and evening gown. I also won Online People’s Choice voting award. I will be competing at Nationals in July for the title Mrs. International in West Virginia.

I had a mom ask me for help and guidance of how to talk to and help her daughter who is 13 and going through anorexia! This hit home for me, cause at the age of 13, I battled this horrible disease for two years and almost died from it.
Mine started because I had switched schools with my best friend. We started 7th grade together. That is a hard grade for many girls.
